Rick Sherman

Rick Sherman has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Rick currently holds the position of Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Veolia North America since 2023. In this role, they lead the teams in the Sustainable Buildings Group within North America, working towards solutions in energy, water, and waste management.

Prior to their current position, Rick served as the Vice President of Business Development at Veolia from 2022 to 2023, focusing on sustainable and resilient infrastructure solutions across the Western US. Rick also briefly held the role of Director in the same company.

Before joining Veolia, Rick worked as a Senior Advisor at MEA and Municipal Energy Advisors from 2019 to 2022. Rick was responsible for providing strategic guidance in these roles.

From 2015 to 2019, Rick was employed at ENGIE Services U.S. as a Senior Business Development Manager. Rick specialized in developing performance contracting opportunities for Municipal and Higher Education markets in California.

Prior to their time at ENGIE, Rick operated a sole-proprietor consulting practice as an Energy Consultant from 2003 to 2015. Rick focused on providing energy, efficiency, and electrification consulting services to municipal and private sector clients throughout the US and Puerto Rico.

Earlier in their career, Rick held positions at Siemens as a General Manager, overseeing the performance contracting division in Northern and Central California and Nevada, and at Johnson Controls as a Regional Manager, leading service divisions for building automation, mechanical maintenance, fire, and life safety teams in various locations.

Rick's career started at Carrier HVAC, where they held progressively increasing positions including mechanical system sales, operations, and management for commercial, industrial, and municipal clients in California. Rick gained extensive training and knowledge in commercial and industrial heating and air conditioning equipment and systems.

Rick Sherman has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Engineering from California State University, Fresno.
