Michael Czaczkes

Michael Czaczkes has a diverse work experience. Michael is currently serving as the Director of Media Strategy at the Vera Institute of Justice since January 2023. Before that, they held the position of Associate Director of Media Strategy at the same organization from October 2022 to January 2023. Prior to joining the Vera Institute of Justice, they worked as the Senior Vice President at The Hayes Initiative from January 2017 to January 2022. Michael also served as the Director of Policy and Public Affairs at GMHC from September 2015 to January 2017. In addition, they worked as a Policy Associate at the Office of the New York City Public Advocate from June 2014 to September 2015. Before that, Michael held various roles in the New York State Assembly, including Deputy Chief of Staff, Director of Constituent Services, and Community Liaison. Michael started their career as a Communications and Outreach Associate at the Connecticut Fund for the Environment in January 2010 and worked there until May 2010.

Michael Czaczkes has a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in Nonprofit Management and Policy from the NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Government and Urban Studies from Manhattan College.
