Alastair McLeod

Group CEO at Veracity

Alastair McLeod has had a diverse and successful career in the field of IP Video Surveillance. Starting in 1981, they worked as a Laser Physicist at Barr & Stroud, where they focused on the development of electro-optical counter-measures and eye-safe lasers for range-finding. From 1985 to 1990, they served as a Group Leader at Senter for Industriforskning. Alastair then joined MRT in 1990 as the VP of Product Development, where they contributed to the creation of one of the first "smart-cameras" and helped take the company public on the Norwegian stock market.

In 1995, Alastair became the Marketing Manager at Primary Image Ltd, where they successfully turned the company's focus from custom development to commercial products, with the introduction of an automatic video motion detection system. Alastair then went on to found Visimetrics in 1996, serving as the Managing Director until its sale in 2004. During this time, they played a key role in the early success of digital video recorder (DVR) technology in the UK market.

Finally, in 2005, Alastair established Veracity UK Ltd as the Founder and CEO. Under their leadership, Veracity expanded to become a group of companies covering multiple regions worldwide. Alastair focused on product development and marketing of innovative solutions for the IP Video Surveillance industry, with a strong vision for the long-term potential of the market.

Alastair McLeod completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Strathclyde from 1974 to 1978, earning a B.Sc. Hons degree in Applied Physics. Alastair then pursued further studies at the same institution and obtained a Post-Grad degree in Laser Spectroscopy from 1979 to 1981. In 2003 to 2004, they attended the Strathclyde University Business School to study Business Management.
