Peter Kaczkowski

Director of Ultrasound Science at Verasonics

Peter Kaczkowski has been working in the field of ultrasound science since 1992. Peter began their career as a Senior Electrical Engineer at the University of Washington Applied Physics Lab. In 2005, they started their own consulting business, PJK Scientific Consulting, where they specialized in consulting in medical ultrasound development, ultrasound imaging, HIFU therapy simulation, instrumentation development, and experimentation with ex-vivo tissues. Peter also worked as a Senior Scientist at Verasonics from 2005 until 2020, where they developed new applications in ultrasound imaging and therapy, specializing in ultrasound guidance, monitoring, and assessment of HIFU therapy. Peter also worked in ultrasound metrology, FDA compliance, and customer support. In 2020, they were promoted to Director of Ultrasound Science at Verasonics.

Peter Kaczkowski received their PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington in 1993. Peter received their MS in Geophysics from the Colorado School of Mines in 1986, and their BSEE in Electrical Engineering and Physics (minor) from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1977.
