Xu Zhang

Xu Zhang is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in nanofabrication and process engineering. Currently serving as a Principal Nanofabrication Process Engineer at VerAvanti Inc since July 2022, Xu previously held the position of Process Engineer at Facebook, where responsibilities included leading processes for grayscale lithography and nanoimprint lithography aimed at AR waveguide display fabrication. Prior experience as a Staff Engineer at ams AG involved the development of 3D sensors and leading metasurface R&D efforts. As a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Pennsylvania, Xu invented a roll-to-roll surface wrinkle printing technology selected for the Y Prize competition. Additionally, a first-author publication in the journal Science was produced during a Postdoctoral Researcher role at the University of Maryland College Park. Academic credentials include a PhD and Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China.
