Derek Sharkey

Derek Sharkey currently serves as the Managing Director of Strategic Growth at Vercity since December 2024, where responsibilities include leading strategic growth initiatives. Prior to Vercity, Derek held various roles at WSP from August 2015 to December 2024, including Strategic Growth Director, where oversight included the Planning, Property and Advisory business, and Head of Client Strategy and Growth, focusing on cultivating a client-centric culture. Earlier in Derek's career, additional roles included Director - Strategic Growth Lead and Commercial & Strategy Director, with a strong emphasis on managing technical and commercial risks in infrastructure projects. Derek started in the PPP sector at Sweett Investment Services, serving as PPP Director from October 2004 to July 2015. Educational background includes a degree from Glasgow Caledonian University.
