Erin Simpson has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies and roles. Erin is currently working at Verdani Partners as the Associate Director of Engineering, where they serve as the Technical Team Lead for PGIM Real Estate's ESG program. Prior to this, Erin held positions such as Senior Engineering Manager and Engineering Manager at Verdani Partners. Before joining Verdani, Erin worked at NegaWatt Consulting, Inc. as a Project Engineer, with responsibilities including LEED certification and energy audit analysis. Erin also gained experience at GL Garrad Hassan as a Project Engineer - Turbine Measurements and Meteorological Data Manager. Erin's earlier career includes roles as a Teaching Assistant and Graduate Student Researcher at UC San Diego and as a Junior Researcher at the Space Sciences Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley.
Erin Simpson's education history includes a professional certificate in Sustainable Business Practices from UC San Diego Extended Studies, obtained from 2015 to 2016. Prior to that, Erin earned a Master of Science (MS) in Engineering Sciences from UC San Diego, completing the degree between 2004 and 2006. Erin's undergraduate education consisted of a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Physics & Astrophysics, achieved between 1999 and 2002 at the University of California, Berkeley.
In addition to the formal education mentioned above, Erin has obtained several certifications. These include Certified Energy Manager (CEM) from the Association of Energy Engineers, obtained in January 2023; LEED Green Associate from Green Business Certification, Inc., obtained in January 2019; Building Science Principles from the Building Performance Institute, Inc., obtained in June 2018; BIM 101 - Introduction to Revit Architecture and BIM 201 - Intermediate Revit Architecture from Autodesk, both obtained in August 2016. Erin also completed a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher training from Yoga Alliance in April 2016.
Furthermore, Erin has additional certifications, such as OSHA 30-hour Construction Industry Outreach Training, obtained in 2010. However, the specific month of obtaining this certification is unknown. Erin also has a certification in wind turbine climb rescue, although the institution where the certification was obtained is not provided.
