Niels Hazekamp

Niels Hazekamp is a professional with extensive experience in environmental advocacy and policy development. Currently serving as a Senior Inhoudelijke Medewerker Klimaatplannen at Milieudefensie, Niels works alongside a team to encourage significant polluting companies to reduce their CO2 emissions. Previously, as a Senior Policy Advisor and Policy Adviser on Trade Finance at Both ENDS, Niels focused on strengthening local communities in developing countries and advocating for the phasing out of public finance for the fossil fuel sector. Niels also managed communications at Closing the Loop, an organization dedicated to waste reduction, and held leadership roles at Young Friends of the Earth Netherlands. Niels holds a Master of Science in Criminology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from the same institution, complemented by studies at Ghent University.
