Geert-Jan Janse has extensive experience in cultural management and art history. As Directeur at Vereniging Rembrandt since July 2022, Geert-Jan leads initiatives promoting art and cultural heritage. Previously, as Secretaris Commissie Collectie Nederland at Raad voor Cultuur from July 2021 to March 2022, Geert-Jan facilitated discussions among private collectors and museums, contributing to a significant report on collection protection. Between June 2017 and July 2021, Geert-Jan conducted independent research focused on chinoiserie in the 18th-century Dutch Republic. Additional freelance roles and projects have included work as an art historian, writing collection plans for Teylers Museum, and curating exhibitions. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree from the Warburg Institute and a drs. degree from Leiden University, alongside studies in Art History at the University of Amsterdam.
