Dr. Ricarda Hilf has a diverse work experience in various companies and institutes.
From 2016 to the present, they have been working at VERFORA as the Head of Quality & Scientific Affairs. Prior to this role, from 2016 to 2020, they served as the Head of Quality Management.
Before joining VERFORA, Dr. Hilf worked at Vifor Pharma as a Regulatory Affairs Specialist from November 2014 to December 2015.
From 2011 to 2014, Dr. Hilf worked at Crucell Switzerland AG, first as a Regulatory Affairs Manager where they were responsible for process development, improvement, and maintenance of regulatory quality management system processes. Dr. Ricarda also played a key role in the business process integration during a merger. Later, they served as a Manager Regulatory Affairs, where they gained experience in worldwide regulatory affairs procedures, including new marketing authorization applications and life cycle management.
Prior to their roles at Crucell Switzerland AG, Dr. Hilf worked at the Vollum Institute, Oregon Health & Science University as a PostDoc from January 2010 to January 2011. Here, they focused on heterologous overexpression and characterization of NMDA receptors in insect and mammalian cells, protein purification, stability assays, and protein crystallization.
Dr. Hilf's academic experience includes a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Zurich, which they pursued from October 2005 to November 2009. During their doctoral studies, they conducted research on the structure and function of prokaryotic pentameric ligand-gated ion channels. Dr. Ricarda also published several papers and reviews in prestigious scientific journals and actively participated in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.
Additionally, Dr. Hilf gained research experience through internships at EMBL in 2004, MPI for Medical Research, Heidelberg in 2002, and the University of Oxford in 2001.
Dr. Ricarda Hilf began their education in 2001 at the University of Hamburg, where they earned their Vordiplom in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2003. Dr. Ricarda then pursued further studies at the University of Bayreuth, obtaining a Diploma in Biochemistry in 2005. Continuing their academic journey, they attended the University of Zurich from 2005 to 2009, completing a PhD in Biochemistry with a focus on Structural Biology. In 2011, Dr. Hilf enrolled at Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences, where they pursued an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from 2011 to 2013. During this time, they also studied at Kalaidos Fachhochschule Zürich, earning a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in General Management in 2012 and another CAS in Project Management in 2011-2012.
