This is a great way to get the kids involved in the kitchen.
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Cream together the butter, brown sugar and white sugar. Beat in the egg and vanilla.
Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; stir into the creamed mixture.
Mix in the nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Makes about 4 dozen.
