Sergio García has been working in the field of cloud security since 2020. In 2020, they worked as a Cloud Security Engineer at Openbank, where they were involved in cloud security projects with AWS services and developed AWS Lambda functions in Python. Sergio also helped with the revision of cloud security incidents and requests ticketing. That same year, they worked as an IT Support Engineer Intern at Amazon's MAD6 Fulfillment Center, where they resolved change management and Technical Support tickets and contributed to the Ring Customer Service & SecOps team. In 2019, they were a Technology & Operations Intern at Banco Santander, where they gained knowledge about Cybersecurity's vulnerabilities and analyzed the possible technological or economical impacts in the company. Sergio also created dashboards with the reports of the team in Power BI. Currently, they are a Cloud Security Engineer at Verica, where they maintain the Prowler Open Source tool for AWS security best practices and works on Prowler Pro, the enterprise supported version of Prowler.
Sergio García has a Master's Degree in Cybersecurity from Universidad Europea, obtained in 2021. Sergio also holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, which they obtained in 2020. In 2018-2019, Sergio attended Warsaw University of Technology and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering. In 2019-2020, they were a participant of the Engineer Incubator Program 7.0 at the Cisco Networking Academy. Sergio has also obtained several certifications, including Speaker at Security BSides Las Vegas in 2022, Speaker at Cloud Village at DEF CON in 2022, AWS Certified Security – Specialty from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2021, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2021.
