Sooyoon Shin

Sooyoon Shin is a highly experienced scientist with a focus on digital biomarkers and clinical research, currently serving as a Staff Scientist and Clinical Science Lead at Verily since December 2020. Previously, Sooyoon held senior positions in data science and clinical data analysis at Cala Health from July 2018 to November 2020. Academic training includes a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh, where research revolved around vision and eye movement in non-human primates, and postdoctoral work at the University of California, San Francisco, investigating song learning in songbirds. Sooyoon has a strong background in experimental design, quantitative analysis, and mentoring, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Psychology from Yonsei University.
