Patrick Abbott

Patrick Abbott, Ph.D., is a Senior Application Scientist at Verity Instruments, specializing in the development of optical endpoint systems for semiconductor fabrication since October 2016. Previously, Patrick held positions as a Development Engineer at Tronics Microsystems, where micro-electromechanical systems were developed, and as a Senior Process/Integration Engineer at Samsung Electronics, managing technology transfers and new product introductions. Earlier experience includes roles at Freescale Semiconductor and Intel, focusing on process optimization and lithography system qualification. Patrick began a career in academia as a researcher and lecturer in Physics and Materials Science at the University of North Texas, where dissertation work explored the impact of average grain size on the work function of polycrystalline diamond films. Patrick holds a Ph.D., an MS, and a BS in Physics from the University of North Texas.
