John Russell

John Russell is the current Vice President of Design at Verkada. Prior to this, they served as Vice President of Design at Pingpad from February 2015 to February 2016, and Interim UX Leader at NatureBox from October 2014 to February 2015. John Russell has also been with Chegg, where they led a multi-national product design team and successfully drove product design efforts through 10 acquisitions and IPO as Head of Design from February 2011 to July 2014. Some notable accomplishments during their time at Chegg include partnering with product, engineering and marketing teams to take the company from a single offering ecommerce site (textbook rentals) to a multi offering, multi-platform company (eTextbooks, college search, scholarship match, homework study, career match, learning marketplace) and driving user experience and multi-device product design strategy across platforms.

John Russell has a Masters in Product Design from Stanford University and a Bachelors in Studio Art from New York University. John also went to Palo Alto High School.

Their manager is Filip Kaliszan, Co-Founder & CEO. They work with Brandon Davito - VP of Product and Operations, Martin Hunt - CTO, and Tim Wilcox - VP of Finance.
