Roy Maclean has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering. Roy started their career at Aker Kvaerner in 2002 as a Graduate Electrical Engineer, working on various projects and gaining experience in cable sizing calculations, electrical fault calculations, and other electrical engineering tasks. Roy then moved on to Aker Kvaerner as a Senior Electrical Work Package Engineer, where they were responsible for designing and delivering control system equipment. Roy continued their career at Aker Solutions, first as an Electrical Analysis Specialist Engineer, where they carried out electrical power and signal analysis for subsea electrical distribution networks. Roy then took on the role of Lead Asset Integrity Engineer, focusing on operational reliability, safety, and asset protection. Later, they became a Project Engineer, managing engineering activities for subsea control systems for the EnQuest Kraken project. Roy also worked at Subsea 7 as an Electrical Engineer, providing electrical engineering support for ROV and vessel operations. Currently, they serve as the Systems Engineering Manager at Verlume, where they oversee the engineering team and ensures on-time delivery. Throughout their career, Roy Maclean has demonstrated their expertise in electrical engineering and project management.

Roy Maclean completed their Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Aberdeen from 1998 to 2002. From 2003 to 2004, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Renewable Energy Systems and the Environment at the University of Strathclyde.
