Haley Sommer

Haley Sommer currently serves as the Director of Communications & Legislative Affairs for the Vermont Department of Corrections, a position held since February 2023. Prior to this role, Sommer was the Campaign Manager for Charity for Vermont from May 2022 to November 2022 and worked as the Communications Director for Senator Kesha Ram from January 2020 to November 2020. Additional experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the University of Vermont in 2020, and working as an Electives Counsellor at Windridge Tennis & Sports Camps in 2018. Haley Sommer earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources, with coursework completed from 2017 to 2021, and is a graduate of the Western Academy of Beijing from 2010 to 2015.
