Elizabeth Miller

Trustee at Vermont Law School

Liz Miller specializes in counseling on executive and organizational management and corporate governance, crafting effective public policy, and navigating regulatory approval processes. Liz previously served as Chief of Staff to former Governor Peter Shumlin and as the Commissioner of the Vermont Public Service Department, where she led the state’s energy and telecommunications policy. Prior to public service, Liz was a practicing lawyer and founding member of Spink & Miller PLC, where her practice focused on complex commercial litigation, including products liability claims, environmental disputes, shareholder and business organization disputes, antitrust claims, and intellectual property suits. She has served on many boards including Local Motion, Vermont Symphony Orchestra, Boy & Girls Club of Burlington, Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce, and Vermont Law School. Liz enjoys hiking boating enjoying BTV waterfront. She and her husband Eric live in Burlington.
