Vermont Legal Aid helps to ensure that one of the founding principles of this country remains alive: justice for all, not just for the few who can afford it. 

We provide free civil legal services to people throughout Vermont, primarily those with low incomes or who meet the income and eligibility guidelines for each of our projects:

        Long Term Care Ombudsman Project
        Mental Health Law Project
        Poverty Law Project

We work to address the causes of poverty, discrimination and inequality through legal representation, community education, public policy and legislative advocacy.

The Legal Team at Vermont Legal Aid, Inc. is dedicated to providing free civil legal services to individuals in need, particularly those facing poverty, discrimination, and other barriers to access. Comprising various attorneys and legal assistants, the team offers expert representation across multiple projects, including Disability Law, Elder Law, Housing Discrimination, and Mental Health Law. They engage in community education and advocate for public policies that promote justice and equity within the legal system, ensuring that all Vermonters receive the support and resources they deserve.
