Patrick Pfeifer

Conservation Program Director at VERMONT YOUTH CONSERVATION CORPS INC

Patrick Pfeifer has a diverse background in environmental conservation and sustainability. Patrick started their career as a Crew Leader with the Southwest Conservation Corps, where they led teams in completing conservation projects and providing environmental education. Patrick then worked as a Research Assistant in the University of Arizona Geoarchaeology Lab.

In 2011, Patrick joined the University of Arizona Students for Sustainability as a Compost Technician, where they managed the compost system and reduced waste. Patrick then moved to Northern Arizona University as the Compost Program Coordinator, where they researched, launched, and managed their composting program.

Patrick also gained experience as a Grant Writer at Flagstaff Medical Center, where they assisted with research, writing, and reporting for an extensive grants program. Patrick later became the Program Director for Micro-Entrepreneurship Center at the Northern Arizona University Program for Community, Culture, and the Environment, where they facilitated communication and team coordination for a cooperative marketplace and micro-entrepreneurship center.

From 2013 to 2017, Patrick co-founded Roots Composting LLC, a composting enterprise where they served as the CTO/Director of Decomposition. Patrick successfully grew the operation and developed a solid customer base. In 2014, Roots Composting LLC joined Good Earth Power, where Patrick served as the Director of Decomposition and later expanded their role to include Operations Management. Patrick was responsible for various forest restoration and operations tasks, working as a contractor with the United States Forest Service.

Most recently, Patrick worked as the Conservation Program Director at Vermont Youth Conservation Corps. Patrick led a program that provided experiential learning opportunities to youth and managed various aspects of the program, including programming, revenue generation, and financial management. Overall, Patrick has demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability throughout their career.

Patrick Pfeifer obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Anthropology from the University of Arizona, where they studied from 2007 until 2011. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Sustainable Communities at Northern Arizona University, where they attended from 2011 to 2013.
