Alaknanda Mishra

Alaknanda Mishra has a strong background in biosciences and research. Alaknanda recently joined Vernal Biosciences as the Associate Director and Head of QC. Prior to that, they worked as a Scientist III at Chameleon Biosciences, Inc. In 2021, Mishra was a Scientist at Mantra Bio, where they played a crucial role in establishing disease ophthalmology animal models and conducting therapeutic analysis. Additionally, they served as a Scientific Consultant at Mantra Bio for a brief period. Mishra also gained business development experience as a Business Development Fellow at the University of California, Davis - Graduate School of Management. Alaknanda has a solid academic background, with a Ph. D. and postdoctoral research experience at the University of California, Davis. During their time there, they independently developed and studied biomedical and health-related research programs. Alaknanda also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Eye Institute and the National Institute of Immunology. Alaknanda Mishra completed their Intermediate education at Holy Cross Convent School from 1993 to 2007. Alaknanda then pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Hons degree in Botany, Chemistry, and Zoology from Banaras Hindu University during the period of 2007 to 2010. Continuing their education, they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Zoology from the same university between 2010 and 2012. Alaknanda followed their passion for research and enrolled in the National Institute of Immunology from 2012 to 2017, where they successfully completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cell Biology and Immunology.
