Donna MacCartney

Donna MacCartney is an experienced Instruction and Technology Librarian at Vernon Area Public Library District since February 2016, specializing in creating and instructing technology classes, including Microsoft Office and 3D Printing. Prior experience includes roles as an Adjunct Librarian and Interlibrary Loan and Reference Specialist at the College of Lake County from 2009 to 2021, where responsibilities encompassed creating instructional materials and managing interlibrary loan processes. Donna also instructed professional development sessions on digital presentation tools and developed user instruction workshops integrating new technologies. Previous experience at Barrington Area Library involved providing excellent customer service as an Interlibrary Loan Clerk and Circulation staff. Donna holds a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from Dominican University and a Bachelor of Arts in Printmaking from Pennsylvania State University.
