Vernon Area Public Library
Laura Cohen is a Readers & Information Services Librarian at Vernon Area Public Library District since October 2016. Laura coordinates various readers advisory services, manages collections, and provides staff training on readers advisory techniques. Additionally, Laura is also a NoveList Advisor at EBSCO Information Services since June 2021, where Laura writes read-alike suggestions for the NoveList database. With a Master of Library & Information Studies from McGill University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, French & Francophone Studies from Illinois Wesleyan University, Laura has a strong background in library services and research.

The Vernon Area Public Library District directly serves the 44,002 residents of a 29-square mile area that includes all or parts of Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire, Long Grove, Vernon Hills, Prairie View, Riverwoods and unincorporated Ela and Vernon townships. In addition to access to books, movies and music, the library provides free classes and performances, free Wi-Fi and internet access, on-demand and downloadable music, movies, audiobooks, and e-books, and specialized research services.
