Neurobiologist Advisor at Vernx

Elisa Hill is a neurobiologist advisor at Vernx. Elisa was previously a Vice Chancellor's Senior Research Fellow at RMIT University from March 2017 to February 2021, researching the interactions between the nervous system and bacteria. Elisa was also a US Dept of Defense CDMRP Autism Research Program Research Fellow and NHMRC Research Fellow at The University of Melbourne from September 2012 to September 2014, investigating the effects of genetic mutations associated with autism on enteric neural function. From January 2010 to December 2010, they were an NHMRC researcher at The University of Melbourne, investigating the effects of genetic mutations associated with autism on seizure susceptibility in mice. Elisa was also a postdoctoral fellow (CNRS) at ESPCI-CNRS UMR 7637 "Neurobiologie et diversité cellulaire" from January 2001 to December 2005. Finally, they were a senior research officer at Florey Neuroscience Institutes from January 2006 to June 2010.

Elisa Hill completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Hons in Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Melbourne, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Neuroscience at the same institution. Prior to this, they attended Geelong Grammar School.
