Aviva Garrett

Aviva Garrett has extensive experience as a technical writer, specializing in document architecture and editing. Aviva currently works at Versa Networks as a Document Architect and Technical Writer since 2019. Prior to this, they held a similar role at Viptela, Inc. (now part of Cisco) from 2013 to 2019, where they were responsible for designing product documentation architecture and developing writing style. Before that, Aviva was self-employed as a contract writer and editor in 2012-2013, and worked at Juniper Networks from 2008 to 2012 as a Documentation Specialist, primarily focusing on book editing and infrastructure development. Aviva started their career at Cisco Systems in 1991 as a Staff Engineer/Technical Writer/Contract Writer, where they documented various protocols and authored the initial IOS API documentation. Aviva also has experience at Ultra Network Technologies, Excelan/Novell, Saber Technologies, and Gavilan Computer as a Technical Writer.

Aviva Garrett completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Cruz, between 1971 and 1975. Subsequently, they pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science in Public Health Nutrition from the University of California, Los Angeles, from 1977 to 1979.
