Lead Product Manager at Versaterm

Roy Massie has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Roy began their career as an Electronics Technician at Immediate Business Systems in 1984, where they repaired microcomputer circuit boards. Roy then moved on to Radix Corporation in 1988, working as a Software Developer and specializing in RS-232 telecommunications. In 1992, they joined MACESS/SunGard as a Software Architect, where they designed and implemented enterprise-class workflow and imaging software for the healthcare insurance market. Roy then became the Director of Software Development/R&D at Electronic Healthcare Systems in 1999, overseeing a team of software developers and architects creating products for the healthcare provider market.

In 1999, Roy joined SunGard EXP as the Director of Software Development/Product Management, responsible for conceiving and directing the development of workflow, business process management, imaging, and document management software primarily for the healthcare insurance marketplace. Roy continued their career at SunGard/FIS in 2006, where they served as the Director of Product Management. In this role, they provided program management and research for product roadmaps, market positioning, and acquisitions across various market segments.

Roy then joined Motorola Solutions in 2016 as a Senior Product Manager, focusing on 9-1-1 emergency call and dispatch systems. Roy later became the Director of Product Management, leading the development of the next generation 9-1-1 cloud and Artificial Intelligence software.

Currently, Roy is the Lead Product Manager at Versaterm Public Safety since 2023.

Roy Massie obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Sciences with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, from 1985 to 1990. Prior to that, they earned an Associate of Science degree in Electronics Engineering from the National Education Center, from 1983 to 1985. In addition to their formal education, Roy has obtained various certifications including the Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from the Scrum Alliance in February 2019, as well as certifications in Object Management Group, Product Management, and SAFe Agilist.
