Simon King

Chief Scientific Advisor at Versational

Simon King has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and organizations. Simon started their career in 1996 as a Research Assistant at Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. In 1997, they joined The University of Edinburgh as a PHD Student, later transitioning to roles as a Research Fellow, Lecturer, Reader, and eventually becoming a Professor of Speech Processing in 2010. In 2017, they worked as an Advisor at Papercup and currently holds the position of Chief Scientific Advisor at Versational, starting in 2022.

Simon King's education history includes earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering from the University of Cambridge from 1989 to 1992. Following that, they pursued a Master of Philosophy degree in Computer Speech and Language Processing from the University of Cambridge in 1992 and completed it in 1993. Finally, from 1993 to 1998, Simon attended The University of Edinburgh, where they obtained a Ph.D. in Linguistics, focusing on Automatic Speech Recognition.
