David Kita is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in drug discovery, computational research, and algorithm development. As Vice President of R&D and Cofounder at Verseon since September 2002, David oversees all areas of drug discovery and translational research, building on a molecule engineering platform David designed. Previously, as Senior Director of Computational R&D at Verseon, David led the development of a proprietary computational drug discovery platform and managed a team of 15 scientists. David also contributed to the field of pharmaceutical informatics through a role on the Scientific Advisory Board, where responsibilities included reviewing research initiatives and authoring reports for the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation. Prior roles include Director of R&D at Pulsent, where David advanced video compression technology, and Scientist/Director of Software & Algorithm Development at Hyseq, where innovative solutions in bioinformatics were developed. David holds a PhD in Theoretical Astrophysics and a BS in Applied Math, Engineering, and Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
