Tony U.

Tony U. began their career in 2000 as a Buildmaster/ Content Administrator at ZapMedia. Tony then moved to SecureWorks in 2003 as a Security Consultant, where they managed engagements related to various compliance obligations for companies in the health care and financial sectors. In 2005, Tony took on the role of Sr. Assessor at SunTrust Bank, where they lead security risk assessment efforts to identify, communicate, and facilitate remediation of technology risks across the enterprise. In 2006, Tony moved to Equifax as the Sr. Director of Policy & Risk Management, where they lead and managed a security risk management program that addressed the security and compliance requirements as defined within the security organization. In 2007, Tony took on two roles: Principal Security Engineer at Symantec, where they implemented and consulted on an SCAP solution, and Atlanta Chapter President at OWASP, where they planned activities by managing monthly meetings and planning for enticing talks and workshops. In 2022, Tony founded AltorCloud and VS-Staffing, and is currently the CEO & Founder of VerSprite, a global security, privacy, and risk management firm.

Tony U. holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, which they obtained between 1994 and 1998. Tony also holds four certifications from various institutions, including Certified Risk Information Systems Control (CRISC) from ISACA, obtained in January 2011; Global Information Assurance from SANS, obtained in March 2005; Certified Information Security Auditor from ISACA, obtained in April 2006; and Certified Information Security Manager from ISACA, obtained in July 2007.
