Jacob Burton

Jacob Burton has been working as a Network Engineer at Verteks since February of 2018. Prior to that, they worked as a server and bartender at Darden from January 2007 to February 2018. In this role, they were responsible for communication and people skills, handling customers and restaurants cash and credit information, and working together with all different positions to make sure everything ran smoothly. Jacob then worked as an IT Support Specialist at Ocala Kidney Group from November 2017 to September 2018 before returning to the Verteks team. Before their current positions, they worked as a Cable Technician at Cable Communications & Engineering from January 2005 to October 2007 where they installed residential RG-6 cable, installed and configured customers routers and cable set top boxes, and was chosen to run and install all new cable’s at the UF campus.

Jacob Burton has an Associate of Arts in Computer Technology/Computer Systems Technology from Marion Technical College. Jacob also has certifications from CompTIA in Security+, CompTIA A+, and Network+.

They work with Robert Hipke - Client Success Manager, John Childers - Vice President, and Nick Canterbury - Network Engineer. Jacob Burton reports to Don Gulling, CEO & President.
