Hamish Hepburn

Hamish Hepburn is a Senior Research Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, a position held since May 2022. Previously, Hamish served as a Senior Scientist at Evotec from September 2020 to May 2022 and completed a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship at the University of Oxford in Tim Donohoe's group from August 2017 to August 2020. Experience also includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at ICIQ in Paolo Melchiorre's group from January 2015 to July 2017, a PhD in Organic Chemistry at The University of Edinburgh from September 2011 to January 2015 under Hon Wai Lam, a Visiting PhD researcher at The University of Nottingham from October 2013 to August 2014, and a Sandwich Student role in Synthetic Organic Chemistry at AstraZeneca from September 2009 to August 2010. Hamish holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry and a Master's degree with Honours in Chemistry with Industrial Experience, both from The University of Edinburgh.
