Zailong Wang

Zailong Wang is a seasoned statistician with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Currently serving as Sr. Director and Global Statistics Lead at Vertex Pharmaceuticals since June 2022, Zailong previously held the position of Director of Statistics at AbbVie, where responsibilities included leading multiple projects in the immunology area and interfacing with regulatory agencies. Zailong's career at Novartis spanned over a decade, where roles included Associate Director Biometrician, focusing on clinical studies and innovative statistical methods, and Sr. Principal Biostatistician, overseeing study design and submissions. Earlier experience includes a Post Doctorate Fellowship at The Ohio State University, specializing in gene expression data analysis. Zailong holds a PhD in Statistics from the University of California, Davis.
