Amin Maghareh

Technical Advisor, Space And Autonomy at Verus Research

Amin Maghareh has extensive work experience in research and engineering roles in the field of space technology, control, and autonomy. Amin currently holds the position of Senior Research Engineer at Verus Research since September 2022. In this role, Amin serves as the Principal Investigator and Technical Lead for the STAR TEAMS project, where they lead the software and hardware integration of a flight-ready payload for multi-satellite autonomous systems. Amin also leads the development of a Test, Evaluation, Verification, and Validation framework suitable for multi-satellite autonomy missions.

Prior to their current role, Amin worked as a Research Engineer at Verus Research from June 2022 to September 2022. In this position, they served as the Technical Lead for the LINCS project, where they led the software architecture development for satellite cluster mission planning. Amin also co-led the development and integration of a Resilient Multi-satellite Communication Network.

Before joining Verus Research, Amin worked at Purdue University. Amin held the position of Research Assistant Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering from September 2019 to May 2022. In this role, they led the development and integration of a modular coupled virtual habitat testbed and co-directed the Intelligent Infrastructure Systems Laboratory. Amin also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Purdue University from July 2017 to October 2019, where they co-led a research team in developing a system resilience framework for extraterrestrial habitat systems. This research effort led to the establishment of the Resilient Extraterrestrial Habitats Institute.

Amin's work experience at Purdue University also includes their role as a Research Assistant from August 2013 to August 2017. In this position, they co-developed CyberMech, a computational platform for cyber-physical testing, and led the development and validation of a nonlinear self-tuning robust control system.

Additionally, Amin has held the position of Co-director at the Intelligent Infrastructure Systems Laboratory since September 2019.

Prior to their academic career, Amin founded and served as the Executive Manager of Xantia General Trading from February 2006 to February 2010.

Amin Maghareh completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Engineering from the American University in Dubai in the years 2007 to 2010. Amin then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Engineering from Purdue University from 2011 to 2013. After that, they continued their education at Purdue University and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Engineering from 2013 to 2017. In 2017, Amin Maghareh enrolled in the Purdue University Daniels School of Business to gain knowledge in Applied Management Principles. The end year for this particular degree is not specified.
