Cyber Security Team Lead at VERVE Industrial Protection

Mark Player has extensive experience in the field of cyber security and network support. Mark is currently working at Verve Industrial, a Rockwell Automation Company, as the Cyber Security Team Lead. In this role, they are responsible for leading the cyber security team and ensuring the security of client critical infrastructure.

Prior to this, Mark worked at Honeywell as a Cyber Security Technical Lead, where they performed network and cyber risk assessments for client infrastructure and developed recommendations to mitigate identified risks. Mark also designed and commissioned major projects for client industrial process networks.

Before joining Honeywell, Mark worked as an IT Security Consultant at the University of Calgary and as a Senior Technology Specialist at Telus Communications. Mark also gained experience as a Network Support Specialist at FortisAlberta, a Senior Technical Analyst at SMART Technologies, a Network Support Analyst at Shaw Communications, and a Network Support Analyst at Nexen Inc. Mark started their career as a Network Engineer at Gen-i and worked as a Pre Sales Support Engineer at Asnet Ltd.

Throughout their career, Mark has demonstrated strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to ensuring the security and efficiency of network systems.

Mark Player's education history includes the following:

- In 2018, they attended the SANS Technology Institute to pursue a degree in Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking (SEC560).

- In 2017, they obtained the CISSP certification from ISC2.

- In 2016, they completed the CCNA Security course from Cisco.

- In the same year, they also completed the Experion PKS: Advanced - Server & Station Installation and Administration training from Honeywell.

- In 2015, they earned the Cisco CCNP certification with a focus on CCNP Switch 300-115.

- In 2014, they completed the Implementing Cisco Data Center Unified Fabric (DCUFT) course from Cisco and was certified as an Accredited Configuration Engineer (ACE) from Paloalto Networks.

- In 1999, they obtained a Diploma in Business Computing from the Wellington Institute of Technology.

Additionally, Mark Player holds several certifications, including GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GCISP), GIAC Certified Penetration Tester (GPEN), and various Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNA Datacenter, and CCNA Security.
