Jing Ge

Jing Ge has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Currently, they are serving as an Apache Flink Committer at The Apache Software Foundation since February 2023. Prior to this, Jing worked as the Head of Engineering and a Staff Engineer at Ververica, the original creators of Apache Flink®, from October 2021 to present.

Before joining Ververica, Jing held the position of Staff Engineer and Senior Engineering Manager at Ant Group from April 2017 to September 2021. During their tenure at Ant Group, Jing led multiple data engineering teams and played a crucial role in developing the Alipay Plus Data Platform. They also spearheaded big data and data warehouse development for data analytics and digital operation. Additionally, Jing worked as the Chief Data Officer for Dana Wallet.

From January 2016 to March 2017, Jing served as the Senior Engineering Manager at eBay. Their responsibilities included managing software development in the eCommerce industry and leading teams focused on Hadoop Development, Operation, and Paas. Jing was also the owner of Apache Eagle and contributed to designing the architecture of the Hadoop platform management system.

Prior to eBay, Jing worked as a Senior Software Architect at Kuehne + Nagel from July 2011 to December 2015 and as the Chief Software Engineer and Software Architect at MSC (Bertling EDI Service & IT GmbH) from March 2007 to June 2011.

Jing has also made notable contributions as a book author, having published a book at Tsinghua University Publish from December 2006 to April 2007, and as a Software Engineer at DAKOSY AG from January 2005 to December 2006.

Overall, Jing Ge brings a wealth of experience and expertise in various roles, particularly in the fields of data engineering, software development, and architecture.

Jing Ge attended Hamburg University of Technology from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained a Diplom Ingenieur degree in Computer Science.
