Patrick Faloon

Director, Head of Assays & HTS at Vesalius Therapeutics

Patrick Faloon has a long and successful career in the life sciences field. Patrick began their career in 1998 as a Graduate Student Associate at Washington University School of Medicine, where they worked on Phenotypic Characterization of Developmental Progenitors and Biomarker Screening. In 2002, they became a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where they worked on Functional Genomics and Animal Model Development. Patrick then moved to Novartis Pharma AG in 2003 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, where they created a zebrafish model of neuroinflammation and performed small molecule screens. In 2008, they joined Ore Pharma as a Scientist, where they worked on Clinical Candidate Drug Repurposing. From 2009 to 2014, they worked at the Broad Institute as a Group Leader of Phenotypic Screening and Senior Scientist of Drug Discovery, Bioassays. Finally, in 2021, Patrick joined Vesalius Therapeutics as the Director, Head of Assays & HTS, where they established a state-of-the-art drug discovery team.

Patrick Faloon obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Marine Sciences from Long Island University, Southampton Campus in 1993. Patrick then attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine from 1995 to 2001, where they earned a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology. From 1998 to 2002, they also attended Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, studying Molecular and Cell Biology.
