Aron Thor Hjartarson

Aron Thor Hjartarson has a diverse work experience in various software engineering roles. In 2008 and 2009, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Science Institute, University of Iceland, focusing on volume averaged models for hydrogen and chlorine discharges. During this time, they contributed to published papers and technical reports.

In 2014, Aron joined Assentis Technologies AG as a Software Engineer, initially working on their Java-based product family. After a year, they transitioned to a consultancy-oriented role, establishing a new department/team for specific consultancy projects. Aron Thor also developed an Android application as an extension of their software.

From 2015 to 2016, Aron worked as a Software Engineer at nomoko, a startup focused on 3D reconstruction software. Aron Thor contributed to the development of a 3D reconstruction software framework using Python, C++, and various open-source projects in computer vision.

In 2016, Aron joined Atfinity, another startup, where they worked on developing a client intelligence engine and an interaction center for the private banking industry. Aron Thor primarily focused on expanding the user interface using JavaScript library React and made contributions to app development for Android/iOS.

Before joining their current position, Aron worked at Avaloq as a Software Engineer from 2016 to 2018.

Currently, Aron is working at vestr as the Head of Product, a role they assumed in 2021. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Software Engineer/Product Owner since 2019.

Aron Thor Hjartarson completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Háskóli Íslands from 2006 to 2009. Subsequently, they pursued further education at ETH Zürich from 2010 to 2013, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.
