Sophie Day

Sophie Day is an experienced professional in structural engineering and strategy, currently serving as Group Head of Strategy at Vesuvius plc since July 2023. Prior to this role, Sophie held various positions at McKinsey & Company, including Senior Engagement Manager, where notable achievements included leading impactful client projects and receiving early promotions. Sophie's earlier experience includes roles as a Structural Engineer at Curtins and Research Assistant at Imperial College London, contributing to significant engineering projects and research initiatives. Sophie holds a Master’s Degree in Advanced Structural Engineering from Imperial College London, along with a BEng (Hons) in Civil & Structural Engineering from the University of Leeds and completed the Oxford Entrepreneurship: Venture Finance Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
