Alexa Ortiz

Alexa Ortiz is an Associate Veterinarian with experience at VetCor since September 2022 and previously at Auburn Animal Center from January 2018 to September 2022. Prior to these roles, Ortiz completed a Veterinary Internship at the Wildlife Center of Virginia and participated in a work-study program at Tufts University’s Wildlife Clinic. Notable internships include a Summer Veterinary Student Intern position at the Biodiversity Research Institute, focusing on Common Loon health assessments, and a Summer Conservation Student Intern role at Maine Audubon, which involved educating the public on wildlife conservation issues. Ortiz holds a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Tufts Cumming School of Veterinary Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology/Animal Biology from Oregon State University.
