Cassandra Wheeler is an accomplished director with extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as the Director of Supply Chain Management at Southern Company since May 2022. In addition to this role, Cassandra has been the President of Veterans In Energy since March 2021. From May 2014 to July 2022, Cassandra held the position of Regional Director and Plant Manager at Georgia Power Company, and served as Plant Manager at Alabama Power Company from December 2009 to April 2014. Earlier experience includes the role of Maintenance and Engineering Manager at Georgia Power Company in 2009. Cassandra holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Veterans in Energy is a national employee resource group that provides transition, retention and professional development support to military veterans working in energy. We are a qualifying 501(c)3, non profit organization supported through our sponsors in the energy industry, and our membership, both Veteran and non Veteran. Membership is free for individuals. Veterans in Energy advocates through education and networking to improve the working environment, career development and quality of life for military veterans in the energy industry.
