August Nielsen

August Nielsen has over 24 years of work experience in various roles within human resources and social services. They are currently serving as the VP of People Services at Veterans United Home Loans since August 2020. Prior to this, August worked at Veterans United Home Loans as a Human Resources Director from December 2012 to August 2020 and as a Human Resources Manager from April 2008 to November 2012.

Before joining Veterans United Home Loans, August worked at Shelter Insurance as an Employment Recruiter from January 2005 to April 2008 and as a Claims Supervisor from May 2001 to January 2005. Prior to that, August worked as a Claims Adjuster at Shelter Insurance from 1999 to 2001. They also have experience working as a Case Manager at Missouri Department of Social Services from 1997 to 1999 and as a Social Worker at Oklahoma Department of Human Services from 1996 to 1997.

August Nielsen, SHRM-SCP, completed their Bachelors degree in German from Truman State University, where they studied from 1991 to 1995. In June 2015, they obtained their SHRM-SCP certification from the SHRM institution.
