Senior Vice President Of Operations at Veterinary Practice Partners

Martin Peters has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Martin started their career in the US Army in 2004, where they served as a US Army Infantry Officer, commanding various infantry units. During their time in the army, they led combat operations, training, and equipment maintenance and was deployed four times. Martin also managed civil reconstruction projects in Afghanistan.

After leaving the army in 2012, Martin joined The Boston Consulting Group as a Consultant. Here, they advised clients in industries such as pharmaceutical, telecom, defense, automotive, and energy on procurement, strategy, change management, post-merger integration, and organizational restructuring. Martin completed eight projects during their tenure.

Martin then moved on to National Veterinary Associates in 2016, where they held several roles, including Director of Operations and Senior Director of Operations, Tejas. Martin was responsible for managing multiple divisions consisting of numerous hospitals, veterinarians, and teammates. In this role, they were also involved in high-growth periods and temporarily led an additional division.

In 2020, Martin served as Chief Operating Officer at both Nova Health and a PE-Backed Veterinary Consolidator. At Nova Health, they provided leadership during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, managing volatile staffing levels and maintaining high-quality service levels. At the veterinary consolidator, they had P&L responsibility for multiple sites and implemented operational improvements.

Currently, Martin is working at Veterinary Practice Partners as the Senior Vice President of Operations. Martin leads a portfolio of veterinary partnerships and is part of the company's leadership team.

Martin Peters earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where they attended until 2004. In 2002, they briefly attended the United States Air Force Academy to study Mechanical Engineering. In 2014, Martin Peters enrolled and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Harvard Business School.
