Roy Derks is a technical engineer at Vetipak B.V. since January 2020, having successfully completed an internship as a mechanical engineer with a thesis project that involved delivering a working prototype robot cell for packaging and filling resealable pouches. Prior experience includes work as a mechanic at WVS from May 2017 to December 2019, where responsibilities included replacement, repair, maintenance, and installation of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components. Roy also interned as a mechanical engineer at Modis Engineering from August 2018 to January 2019, achieving a grade of 7.9 for redesigning an amusement park attraction to enhance efficiency, reduce wear, and improve maintenance access. Earlier experience includes working on a farm with Van Gent from May 2013 to April 2017. Roy holds a degree from Avans University of Applied Sciences (2016-2021) and completed secondary education at Pax Christi College (2011-2016) with a focus on nature and technology.
