Alistair Forsyth joined VHA in the role of Chief Information Officer in Spring 2020. In this role Alistair oversees VHA’s Information Technology, Records Management and Health Informatics departments and is focused on making everything we do as easy as possible and communications for VHA’s clients and families simpler and more streamlined through investment in innovation, technology and digital tools.
Alistair joined VHA from North York General Hospital where he led clinical transformation projects, oversaw the provision of IT Support and assisted in developing the hospital’s digital strategy. He was also the Digital Lead for the North York Toronto Health Partners Ontario Health team. Alistair previously held management positions with eHealth Ontario where he worked on privacy policy and governance frameworks and co-designed the Identity, Access and Privacy program with the Local Health Integration Networks, the Ontario Association of Community Care Access Centres and OntarioMD including the integration of the provincial client registry with the CHRIS system, a web-based application for safely holding patient health information.
Alistair holds a Master of Health Administration degree, a Graduate Diploma in Law and Certificates in IT Contract Drafting & Negotiation and Information Privacy.
