Kathryn Nichol

Dr. Kathryn Nichol is President and CEO of VHA Home HealthCare. Prior to her CEO appointment, Kathryn held the role of Vice President of Quality, Best Practice, Research and Education and Chief Nursing Executive at VHA.

A Registered Nurse by background, Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Health Science in Occupational and Environmental Health and a Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Science, all from the University of Toronto, and has held a wide variety of leadership, academic and operational roles in the acute health care and government sectors.

Kathryn holds an appointment as Assistant Professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto where she teaches, supervises graduate students and conducts research focused on the health and wellness of nurses and interprofessional teams. She is Chair of the Research Advisory Council for The Institute for Education Research at the Michener Institute at University Health Network, Associate Director of the Centre for Research Expertise in Occupational Disease, a collaborative program of the University of Toronto and St. Michael’s Hospital, and is a Board member with the Ontario Community Support Association.
