Winnie Wong

Winnie Wong has a diverse work experience in the field of occupational therapy. Winnie began their career at Extendicare Inc. as an Occupational Therapist, working there from an unknown start date until 2008. Winnie then joined Scarborough General Hospital, where they served as an Occupational Therapist for stroke, cardiac, general medicine, and geriatric care. During their time at the hospital, they were actively involved in various committees. In 2013, Winnie joined Toronto Western Hospital as a Clinical Occupational Therapist, focusing on providing client-centered practice and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. Winnie transitioned to VHA Home HealthCare in 2017, where they currently work as a Clinical Occupational Therapist and Team Lead for the Responsive Behavioral Team. In this role, they are responsible for funneling referrals to appropriate therapists, providing consultations to clinicians facing challenges with clients displaying challenging behaviors, and contributing to the development of a teletherapy poster promoting virtual therapy in the community. Overall, Winnie Wong has extensive experience working with geriatric adults and is experienced in various areas of clinical occupational therapy.

Winnie Wong attended Queen's University from 2002 to 2006, where they obtained a degree in Occupational Therapy. In terms of additional certifications, Winnie obtained the following: in March 2021, they became MoCa certified; in November 2020, they completed the Choices and Changes certification; in January 2019, they received PIECES training; in June 2018, they became an ADP authorizer through the Ministry of Health; in August 2013, they obtained the AlphaFIM certification from the Canadian Stroke Network. Furthermore, Winnie holds an ARCT Performance Diploma in piano from RCM Theory Of Music, although the specific date of completion is unknown.
