Derek A. Russell

Derek A. Russell, MBA, FHFMA has extensive work experience in financial planning and analysis. Derek A. is currently the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at VHC Health starting in August 2022. Previously, they held the position of Director Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) System Office at Ascension from April 2018 to August 2022. Derek also worked as the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) at Saint Thomas Health from September 2012 to April 2018. Prior to that, they worked at Catholic Health East as the Manager of Financial Planning and Capital Management from July 2007 to September 2012 and as a Treasury Analyst from May 2005 to July 2007. Derek's earlier experience includes working as an Operations Manager at Golden Express Travel Centers from January 2003 to May 2005 and as a Communications Associate / Adjustment Associate at Vanguard from June 2000 to January 2003.

Derek A. Russell holds an MBA in Business Administration and Management, General, which they obtained from West Chester University of Pennsylvania from 2009 to 2013. Prior to their MBA, they completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Finance from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania from 1996 to 2000. Derek's secondary education took place at Weston High School from 1992 to 1996. Additionally, they have certifications as a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) and a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA), both conferred by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
