Sophie Kuijt

Sophie Kuijt is a distinguished engineer and CTO for IBM Northern and Central Europe, specializing in data and AI ethics as the founder and leader of the Data & AI Ethics community in Northern Europe. With over two decades of experience at IBM, Sophie has held various leadership roles including Chief Technology Officer for IBM Consulting Benelux, certified IT architect focused on the consumer industry, and Technical Solution Manager for IT outsourcing. In addition to ongoing work at IBM, Sophie serves on the ethical committee for Gemeente Enschede, addressing ethical questions related to innovative data usage and technology. As a volunteer for VHTO, Sophie promotes the participation of girls and women in engineering and IT through workshops and conferences. Academic achievements include an MBA from the University of Warwick and a Master's degree in Social Sciences of Informatics from the University of Amsterdam.
