Manjiri Akalkotkar

Manjiri Akalkotkar has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Manjiri is currently serving as the Vice President of Program Delivery at VIA Metropolitan Transit since March 2022. Previously, from October 2018 to March 2022, they held the position of Director of Capital and Service Planning at the same organization.

In addition to their roles at VIA Metropolitan Transit, Manjiri has also worked as a Lecturer at The University of Texas at San Antonio since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Urban Transport Consultant for various organizations.

Before joining the Center of Excellence in Urban Transport, Manjiri worked as a Manager of Strategic Planning and Urban Designer/Architectural Designer/Planner at VIA Metropolitan Transit from 2000 to 2009. Manjiri also has experience as a Lecturer at The University of Texas at San Antonio and as a Job Captain at Clovis Heimsath Architects.

Manjiri started their career as an Architectural Intern at Kenneth Wood Architects in 1994 and has since gained valuable experience in the field, including positions as Project Manager at Arno Fischer Architects and Lecturer at The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Manjiri Akalkotkar pursued their education in the field of architecture. From 1985 to 1990, they attended B K P S College of Architecture, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Architecture. Following that, they enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin from 1997 to 2000 and completed a Master's of Science degree in Architecture Studies, specializing in Urban Design and Architecture.
