Brandon MacDonald

Brandon MacDonald is the Director of Product at Via Separations. Brandon has been with the company for 3 years and 7 months, leading the Development and Product team in designing and manufacturing graphene oxide membranes. Via's platform technology decarbonizes industrial separations by replacing energy intensive thermal processes with pressure-driven membrane filtration.

Prior to joining Via Separations, Brandon was a Senior Scientist at E Ink Corporation for 4 years and 6 months. During their time there, they developed new materials and formulations for Advanced Color ePapaer (ACeP), the world's first full color, non-CFA electrophoretic display. Brandon also designed tests and created metrics to quantify the performance and stability of full color, reflective displays. In addition, Brandon developed methods to streamline workflow through automation of data collection and analysis.

Brandon completed their undergraduate degree at The University of British Columbia, where they worked as an undergraduate researcher for 1 year and 1 month. Brandon then went on to complete their graduate studies at the University of Melbourne, where they spent 4 years as a graduate student.

Brandon MacDonald has a PhD from the University of Melbourne in Chemistry and a BSc from The University of British Columbia in Chemistry.
